Resolution
Outcome Verification Mechanism
The accuracy and legitimacy of each prediction's outcome are critical to maintaining trust and fairness within the Nostradamus platform. To ensure transparency and decentralization, the resolution of predictions will be handled through UMA’s Optimistic Oracle (OO) system.
How Resolution Works
Outcome Submission
Once a prediction reaches its conclusion, a designated reporter submits the event’s outcome.
Challenge Period
After submission, the reported outcome enters a challenge window where users can dispute the result if they believe it to be incorrect.
If no dispute is raised within this period, the outcome is finalized and settled automatically.
Dispute Resolution via UMA’s DVM
If a dispute is raised, UMA’s Data Verification Mechanism (DVM) is triggered. The DVM aggregates votes from UMA token holders, who validate the correct outcome based on publicly available data.
The final resolution is determined by a majority vote within UMA’s decentralized governance framework.
Settlement & Payouts
Once the final outcome is confirmed, the Nostradamus smart contract distributes winnings to participants accordingly.
Liquidity Providers (LPs) and creators receive their respective shares of the collected trading fees.
Why UMA?
Using UMA’s Oracle system ensures that Nostradamus remains trustless, tamper-proof, and decentralized in its resolution process. Key advantages include:
Decentralization – No single entity controls the outcome verification process.
Transparency – All submitted outcomes and disputes are recorded on-chain.
Security – UMA’s dispute mechanism prevents manipulation and ensures fair settlements.
By leveraging UMA’s robust Oracle infrastructure, Nostradamus guarantees fair and reliable outcomes for all predictions on the platform.
