🌐UMA RESOLUTION SYSTEM
How does it work?
At Nostradamus, some predictions depend on real-world events that need a trusted resolution. To achieve this, we use UMA’s Optimistic Oracle (OO).
Here’s how it works in simple terms:
Prediction Ends
Once a prediction reaches its end date, the result must be confirmed.
Example: “Will Candidate X win the election?”
Proposer Submits an Answer
Anyone can propose the outcome to UMA’s oracle.
They attach evidence, usually from reliable news sources (e.g., New York Times, Reuters, Associated Press).
Dispute Window
Other participants can review this outcome.
If no one disputes it within a short time window (2h), the result is accepted.
If someone disputes, UMA token holders vote to decide the correct answer.
Final Settlement
The accepted result is written on-chain.
Nostradamus then resolves the prediction based on this confirmed outcome.
✨ Why this matters:
No single person controls the outcome.
Disputes ensure accuracy and protect against manipulation.
UMA guarantees a reliable connection between the blockchain and the real world.
